Getting to know…Dee Dee Downs

Dee Dee Downs is a solo artist with a voice that reminds one of Helen Reddy. Her music is a blend of Traditional Country and Gospel music. With songs that will make you weep or get up and dance, Dee Dee Downs's music will surely touch your heart and soul. While Downs has been performing for years now, it was only in 2006 that she got more serious about her music. She recorded two songs in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Michael Radford of A.M.I. Records produced them. Lord Help Me Hold On To you and When the Rain Comes Falling Down represent her determined foray into the music business. As a solo artist, Downs alone, is responsible for finding her own inspiration for her songs. She looks to God, her mother, and her family. One song of hers recalls her last moments with her younger brother. Lord Help Me Hold On To You is a Southern Gospel song written by her Mother in memory of her younger deceased brother, Jeffrey Jones. She wrote these words while he was in a coma. The Lord took him home shortly afterwards. Dee Dee says that she hopes this song will be an inspiration to all who hear it. When The Rain Comes Falling Down is a toe tappin', hand clappin', make you want to get up and dance, Country song. Mr. Michael Radford provided this song her to sing. In the summer of 2007, she released her first full length CD Riding On A Wing And A Prayer that is a mix of original Country and Gospel songs; produced by Miranda Leake of Ameri-Star Records, this CD became one of the hottest new releases of 2007. Dee Dee was honored in receiving The TCMA Rising Female Vocalist Of The Year 2007 Award.

In 2010, Dee Dee teamed up with her now manager and songwriter, Mr. Peter Fray. With his writing talent and the musical talents of Californian Mr. John Davis, Dee Dee now has now released a brand new CD : My Way Or Take The Highway, this being a traditional Country CD with original songs written by Pete Fray with music composed by John Davis. Many of these songs proved to be very popular at her latest performance at The Centre Stage, Nashville, Tennessee. Dee Dee is proud to have her new CD published by OPus-Music.”
